Brundavanam Partha Sarathi has bagged American's Most socially Active Spiritual Leader of the Year Award

The Hari Hara Devasthanam (HHD) has over two decades developed into a spiritual cum religious centre of reference not only in Mauritius but in the Africa and across the world under the guidance, leadership and vision of Swami Partha Sarathi Brundavanam, Head Priest and Chairman of HHD. The Hari Hara Devasthanam Temple operates under the Swamy Srinivasacharya Badarika Ashramam (SSBA). It is a socio-cultural cum religious organization set up and registered in 1997. The Hari Hara Devasthanam has as prime mission, the upliftment of Sanatan Dharma and to promote unity among all Hindus in Mauritius.

The HHD has successfully been in the forefront of innovative initiative to promote religion and religious practices in the country. The Hari Hara Devasthanam is the only Temple in Mauritius where all Hindu prayers are performed irrespective of language barriers. Daily morning and afternoon prayers, as per rituals as prescribed in our sacred scriptures.

Within two decades the organization has achieved tremendous goals under the enlightened and spiritual guidance of Swamy Partha Sarathi Brundavanam for the promotion and preservation of Hindu culture.

  • In the year 2000, the Hari Hara Devasthanam Temple was constructed where all major festivals and prayers are performed everyday according to the sanathan dharma principles.
  • The second project was the construction of the Kalakshetram in 2005 where religious songs, dance and music is taught and it houses the balvikash spiritual school for the children.
  • In October 2005, the Jaleswar Shivalingum, that is carved in a one-piece black stone and is 11 feet high and weighs 24 tons was inaugurated on the occasion of Maha Shivratree in 2016. This is favourite place of thousands of devotees who do not miss monthly prayers there.
  • In 2010, 22 feet tall Panch Mukhi hanuman carved out in one-piece black stone was imported from India and the Kumb Abhishekam was performed in 2011 amidst thousands of devotees. This has given the temple and its environment a pious vibration and the feeling of cosmic magnet has convinced Swami Pratha Sarathi about the need for the presence of Lord Venkateswara on the premises of the temple.
  • In 2015 the construction of the unique Murthi of lord Venkateswara that is 108 feet high, was started.
  • In 2018, Maha Kumb bhishekam of the Murthi of Lord Venkateswara was performed with special payers with chanting of Holi mantras in chorus by learned Acharya’s and priests from India. This ceremony lasted for over a month.

All these add to the vibrant and pious environment around the Temple, along with the holy prayers that are chanted. The HHD has also taken major initiative towards developing religious consciousness and helping devotees experience unique pious experiences in religious places of renown, by organizing 8 days Tirupati Sri Venkateshwara Yatra to India in December 2017. This has been a great success.

The HHD is also actively involved in a series of social, environmental and educational activities, in an endeavor to imbibe in the younger generation, values and culture based on spirituality, righteousness and integrity such that they become pride of the country. The HHD foresees this an imperative for readiness of the population in the wake of materialism and globalisation.

Hari Hara Devasthanam strongly supports actions across religion to sustain unity in our multicultural country, Mauritius and takes pride to ensure the perenniality of our culture and religion based on Holy Scriptures of sanathan dharma, which treasure secrets and guiding principles for humanity.


A strong believer in perseverance and belief that prayers have to be sustained sustained during the most difficult periods of COVID Pandemic, Swamiji assisted by two learned Acharyas, have been performing daily prayers accompanied by chanting of powerful mantras for the protection of the citizens, that was broadcast live on You tube, to enable devotees perform these prayers from their residence.

Surprisingly, during that period where everyone was uncertain about the future aSwami Partha Sarathi Brundavanam has received a divine call. A call to perform of the most powerful and vibrant prayer for Lord Shiva: ATI RUDRA MAHA YAGNA, the most sacred among all Yagnas. The recitation of the powerful sacred prayers lasted 6 consecutive days from the 1st of March to 6th of March 2021. It si not claimed that the prayers have curtailed the spread of Covid, but knowing the personal belief in spiritual matters and the power of the mantras, these must have been contributory factors to develop confidence and resilience in the population.

All these achievements bear the footprint of most respected Swamiji. His vision to make of HHD a haven of peace and spirituality and his self-belief in realisations of these achievements emanates from a humble person but a stalwart in matters of religion and culture. He initiates and realizes whatever he undertakes in face of all adversity and challenges.

The HHD has obtained recognition for its religious contributions and social work when Swami Acharya Brudavanam was decorated OSK by the government of Mauritius and awarded the most valued and prestigious NRT Award. It is no surprise that the excellent work of Swamiji has been recognised across continents and culminated with the most prestigious “Asia’s Best Social Activity of the year Award 2020-2021” from RULA Awards, for excellent and outstanding Service. This Award from Asia’s No. 1 Brand & Excellence Award is another major recognition for Hari Hara Devasthanam.

The HHD, under the able leadership of Sri Swami Achaya Brundavanam has become a prominent figure in promotion of Hindu religion and prayers in Mauritius and devotees from across the world follow prayers performed in the Temple. The secret lies in the impartial considerations , perseverance and commitment of the temple for the wellbeing all devotees from all walks of life.
